939 Hotel - Roma

Centrally located to most attractions in venice

Hotel was locked at about 11pm and we had not been informed of this.

The hotel staff (Antonio) made every effort to make the entire stay as convenient as possible and even gave us an upgrade to a better room once available. He really gave the hotel its charm! Also, the location is just about perfect, close to the main shopping streets and beautiful squares such as Piazza Navona, Pantheon etc.

I would recommend to check if you are in one of the newer (recently refurnished) room, as there is a huge difference between these beautiful new rooms and the outdated, older rooms with hardly any daylight.

Location was the main plus point for the hotel, apart from that, nothing extraordinary.

worst hotel staff ever. they are so rude! there was an older woman at the front desk that was so hostile and awful. awful, awful, awful rude staff. i can't emphasize is enough. i regret staying here.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel was great value for money with a fantastic location.

The walls were very thin and we were woken up by other guests and the hotel staff every morning and even in the middle of the night. Although our room was right next to reception - I'm not sure if other rooms would experience this.

Great location

We were first put in a very small room, where nothing worked (television, hair dryer etc). After many complaints we changed to another newer room. The building entrance is awful and discusting.

Our 'superior room' and the building were poorly maintained. There were holes in the wall, poor lighting, bathroom was tiny, knees touched bide when on toilet, window shutters couldn't lock. Bags moved out of our room by staff before the 11am check out time. Payment of accommodation required at check-in before seeing the room. Would never stay here again.

It is an outstanding location, go out the door, turn left and see the Spanish steps. Go right and your at the vatican in 5 minutes. Nice room, very clean and comfortable. Our room was very quiet, even through a very long thunder storm.

Find it is tricky, just be patient, it is worth the search.

The room was too dark and not enough space for 1 adult and 2 older children breakfast offered was not good enough - I would like to have fresh fruits and there wasn't any neither orange juice

Its locality. This is our second stay at Marcus and we were impressed by the refurbishment that the hotel has undergone since our first visit

Five minute walk to the Spanish Steps (and metro). Ten minute walk from the Fumicino Airport shuttle drop-off. Elevator. Very clean. Wireless internet. My room had a very small bathroom; however, the shower water was hot, plentiful, and had great pressure.

Everything at the hotel was great, I would definitely stay there again. A word of caution, when you venture out, beware of a restaurant called "La Fontanella," on the way to the Spanish Steps. Fedrico, the owner, will lure you in with friendly tales of the local neighborhood and then offer to make dinner suggestions while deftly removing all menus from the table. Based on menu prices of what we ate (for 3 of us), our bill would have been 95 Euro (including service), but b/c Federico "served us family style," (meaning: one serving divided between the three of us) and the bill was 157 euro! We were totally scammed!! If you must eat there, don't let Fedrico snatch the menu from your hands before you order-- btw, his suggestion will be "the sea bass," count on it (which will show up as 70 Euro on your bill-- that's over $100 for one grilled, covered in salt, served at the table sea bass-- ridiculous).

Nice location, helpful staff, quiet air conditioning.

Hard to find - only small name tag on the doorbell. Bath was too small. Breakfast was very basic.

The hotel is in a brilliant location centrally placed to everything. The staff, especially the lady during the day, was so helpful with directions and bus information etc. Great value for money would definitely stay there in future.

The staff there is really nice, she is very patient and friendly and humorous. She explained everything about Rome quite well, with enthusiasm. Another good thing about this hotel is the location, it's really really central, very convenient to go shopping and sightseeing.

When we first arrive the hotel we were a bit shocked by the gate of the hotel. It dosn't look like a hotel at all. The lift is tiny and funny, and a bit dark in the stairs. One won't dare to stay there alone after listening to ghost stories lol. But when u enter the actual door of the hotel which is on the second floor, u feel better. However this is a very small hotel. Some rooms are ok while some are quite weird. The room I live in is fine, clean and good shower facilities. But the room my other friends live in is not that comfortable, weird arrangement of the furnitures and a bit dark and old. Overall it's not that good value of the price but it's sensible because of the central location.
